2017-18 Learn to Skate

The schedule for the 2017-18 LTS classes at Naga-Waukee has been released. 

Location: NAGA-WAUKEE Ice Arena

Our classes will offer something for everyone—beginning with the first steps on the ice to the mastery of advanced techniques! (All 7 week Sessions)

Session 1 – September 11 thru 
Session 2 – October 30th thru December 18th – Registration Form

  • Registration for session two will need to be printed and submitted before the session starts.  We are working on a new registration process and will have it up and running for the next session.  

Session 3 – January 8th thru February 19th
Session 4 – February 26th thru April 9th
Session 5 – April 16th thru May 21st

6:15-6:45pm Snow Plow Sam/Basic 1-2/Hockey/Specialty
(SPS 3-5 yrs and Basic 1 6 and up)
(Hockey Kids under 6 start in SPS)
6:45-7:15pm Basic 3-6/Adults/Specialty
7:15-7:45pm Free skate 1-6/Specialty

Class Price is $105.00 for each class

Plus $16 to belong to US Figure Skating(only paid once a year)
*Specialty classes catering to the skaters needs and levels in jumps, spins, moves, and power for freestyle skaters (Sign up for 3 classes and ONLY pay for TWO!)

2017 Snow Crystal Invitational

The Pettit National Ice Center is proud to host the 2017 Snow Crystal Invitational, a Compete USA Competition on Sunday February 19th, 2017.

The Snow Crystal Invitational is a FUN, introductory and competitive experience for the beginning skater.  Compete USA incorporates skills from the Learn to Skate USA program into a competition format. The competition is open to ALL skaters who are Sendik’s Skating School at the Pettit class participants regardless of your age/level as well as ANY current eligible members of the Learn to Skate USA program and/or those who are full members of U.S. Figure Skating.  Members of other organizations are eligible to compete as long as they are registered with Learn to Skate USA or a U.S. Figure Skating member club.

COMPETE BY YOURSELF OR WITH FRIENDS!!! Groups are created based on level with no more than 6 skaters per group so EVERYONE receives an award (1st-6th)!!!  Trophies are awarded for all program events and medals are awarded for all other events.  All events will be final round. ALL awards will be presented at the competition as the results are posted.

ENTRIES AND FEES – All entries must be postmarked no later than January 19th, 2017 and are limited to the first 200 applications received.  Entries may be faxed, post marked or dropped off until January 19th, 2017. Late entries will be accepted if the limit has not been reached at the discretion of the organizers.  A $25 late fee will be charged.  Entry fees are per person, US dollars. The first event is $65 and each additional event is $25.  NO refunds after closing date, unless an event is canceled by the Pettit Center.  There will be a $30 fee for returned checks.
