What is Synchro?
Synchronized Skating is the only team discipline in figure skating. Formed in 1956 by Dr. Richard Porter, the sport was known as “precision skating” for the intricate moves skaters perform on the ice together. Synchronized skating offers skaters at all levels a chance to compete with a team within United State Figure Skating.
Wisconsin Edge began with one team in 1985 founder and coach Jon Sorkan. Within a short period of time, The Wisconsin Edge gained national recognition when the teams moved to the Pettit National Ice Center.
In 2019, Wisconsin Edge partnered with the Fond Du Lac Blades! Coach Jenny McMahon became Director of Skating for both the Wisconsin Edge and Fond Du Lac teams. Jenny brought 30 years of national and international synchronized skating experience to Milwaukee. Jenny and her talented coaching staff offer amazing opportunities in Synchro to skaters in Southeastern Wisconsin.
